We have a fantastic group of volunteers who help us with food collections and food sorting. Kaibosh wouldn’t function without our dedicated volunteer base! We’re always looking for more people who are passionate about reducing food waste and helping those in need.
What volunteer roles are available?
Note: All of the roles listed below are part-time/casual. They can also be done on a short term basis, for a minimum of 3 months. Volunteers are usually rostered on for one session once a week at the start, which helps with familiarising themselves with Kaibosh’s processes, after which they are rostered once a fortnight or month (depending on the size of our volunteer base).
Food Sorters: Working in teams of 3 or 4 people, Food Sorters ensure that surplus, fit-for-purpose food items donated by retailers are recorded, quality checked, safely sorted and stored, and ready for charities to collect and give to those who need it the most. Food sorting sessions are held in the evenings and can take between 1 to 1.5 hours a session. Please note: we are currently wait-listing volunteers for our food sorting shifts.
